This is null island, a permanent buoy marking where the equator and prime meridian intersect. at zero degrees latitude and zero degrees longitude (0°N 0°E). It was decommissioned in 2021.
The Carolina Parakeet was the only Parakeet native to eastern North America, and was officially considered extinct in 1920 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It’s theorized the bird may have been poisonous due to its diet consisting of cockleburs.
